yea ive been wanting to find a ****us with a blown engine for a 5.0 swap since i seen it on motor trend. I think they droped in a gt40 crate and ran 12's. aparently wassnt a bad driver for being a short wheelbase

Not exactly a sleeper tho when a focus is produce'n rear tire smoke with 5.0 fender badges lol. i think they have a 4.6 out, 5.0 cammer anyone

http://www.kugelkomponents.com/focus/focus.html makes the swap kit you would need. Would be pretty cool.

For some reason I'm partial to the wagon (don't know why), so I'd like to do it to one of them.

oh yea it would have to be the hatch/wagon whatever the hell they call it. Yea thats the kit motortrend use'd for that show. FRPP sourced them to make that for a project car and they kept the jigs to make the stuff. its been a couple years since i seen that motortrend.

Looks comfortable in there i think =) No where near as practical as a pushrod mill but poping the hood on a focus and see'n "5.0 liter CAMMER" on the valve covers would be to much  FRPP actualy made one of those with the 5.0 cammer engine and can be seen here. The trick would be gett'n a quiet enough exaust so people didnt think you have a v8 under there.

OMG... you are my hero! I LOVE S13's. I used to own a silver '89 hatch, it looked just like yours except a lot more beat up. :D Much respect for attempting the project I always dreamed about doing...

yeah i'm just gonna do a stock high mileage swap and get a GT40 and ford racing tranny later on.

oh, and the car has like 4.0 or 3.96 gears so what would a stock 5.0 be runnin in the quarter with my weight and gears?

In a car less than 3000lbs with that much rear gear, I would say mid to high 13s with traction. For your car, I would consider a little bit less gear like 3.50s. I had them in my '65 notchback(~2800-2900lbs) with a 4-speed and you could easily spin them, but with little smoke and it would just take off. Its a wonder that 10" clutch lasted as long as it did...

hey, do you guys know about any intake manifolds that might be an inch or so lower than the stocker? i saw a 5.0 in one S13 and they had to cut the center hood supports out.

no biggy, just figured if something like that exists you guys would know about it.

Anything low profile will be restrictive and counter productive. The lowest 5.0 intake is the OE 94-95 Mustang and 91-93 5.0 Tbird intake. an dit's not very performance
