Well, it happened last Friday and I forgot to post it. We didnt' do it at the track though. We went from a 10mph roll. We both spun at first, I didn't stop spinning until 2nd was almost up, and by then I was about 5ft from his bumper. I hit third and I pulled back up to his door around the top of third. I was happy. I didn't think he'd spin at all. If I had drag radials I'm pretty sure I could've put a car on him.

Don't know how fast I was going b/c my speedo is an 85mph unit. I figure about 90. I have 3.73s so if anyone knows how fast the top of third is chime in.

Sounds about right No shocker...

Going from a 10mph roll helped the "driver factor" out and kept the variables to a minimum. Good Job!

Thanks for the update...it appears to be a drivers race as once stated.

sounds about right

same thing happend to me when i raced my buddy and we were both near stock at the time accept I diddn't spin quite as much so through 1st and 2nd I diddn't lose any ground

whenever we raced from a dig though I kinda romped him but there goes driver skill and reaction time

My car has a freakishly long spin issue. I don't have tons of tread, but my tires arent bald either. They're 225/60/16 Goodyear Eagle GTIIs. I hit it doing 20 and shifted from first to second and I whitesmoked em from 35 in second gear for like 30 ft tonight. All I have is what's in the sig. My car is stouter than any other 5.0 with my mods I know of. Last Friday I raced a friend with a 03 GT that has a Mac CAI, Bassani X, Flows and 4.10s and put a car and a half from 55-1xx.

IntenseBlue - The 03 driver isn't drive his car "up to par". He is outpowering you and has more gear...similar weight...plus they love to breath up top.

Traction doesn't mean power. I don't spin in 1st gear from a roll...and I have more power than you...but my wallet is probably more empty

I work at a goodyear, Eagle GTII's suck. That is why they are discontinued. They slip all over the place and they ride horridly. My car had those on it stock when I bought it, the same size futura's were so much better.

LT1 engine's are competent engines. Just a set of headers and o/r Y pipe can make a huge difference on those cars. My buddy's car made 325rwhp and 350rwtq on a mustang dyno and the torque curve was dead flat at 349tq from 3000 to 5600rpm and it bumps the 350 mark in three places, going through the 3000 Art Carr stall and 4L60 with upgraded JET solonoids, Moser 12bolt 3.73 gears on a posi it runs high 7's in the 1/8th at 89mph. Too bad it spins the tires, maby some real slicks were he can use the stall he'll bump mid 7's. The mods are Moroso CAI, ported stock MAF, Formula TB (twin 52mm) CC305 cam (220/230 @ .050 .544/.544 lift 1.6RR's 114LSA) Edelbrock midlength, O/R Y pipe, into a cutout.
