a high effort N/A 5.4 2v will max in the 300 rw range and 280 rw with an auto. a 3v or 4v anything is more desirable.

my power was with stock cams, stock 9 degree cam advance(no vct/), stock intake, etc. 250/340rw SAE. with stock stuff. add 10-20 for a manual tranny. no bragging, just go with 3v or 4v.

right this minute 4.6 3v's are making 368rwhp with stock heads. go to modularfords for a writup and dyno. the 5.4 3v will join or exceed with development. ford is supposed to upgrade the 5.4 3v to 325hp/380tq jan 2008 or 2009 model. with torque exceeding 400 lb-ft easily it's no suprise to me.

later.

Hey Bill- do you have a write up on your setup or anymore information on it? I have been kicking around the idea of a 3v 5.4 setup instead of getting a super charger. Id really like to know more about the VCT and the wiring involved....

so could you just swap the bottom end and internals and stuck on the heads and intake manifold of the stock 4.6? If so then it would be a project i would be interested in

and how to bolt the 3v block into a 94-04 Mustang, or do you need to use a 2v block?

bringing it back from the dead again...

Guys I just wanted to let you know HPS is going to be making a 5.4L 2v specific intake for mustangs. It should fit under the stock hood if all works out. Price point should be close to where the 4.6 Hardball'r is now.

If you're even remotely interested in doing a 5.4 swap, already have one or whatever... we need to send words of support for the product to HPS so they can show the funders of the tool-up that there is in fact a good size market. Just send an email to bob at hiperformancesolutions dot com saying you're interested. No spam... this is just showing the market potential to the $$$ guys.

He's going to make it... he called me personally yesterday to tell me and asked me to get the word out. Send him your note of support. Help the community. Even if you don't plan on doing a swap, if this part being available takes away 1 or your reasons for not swapping, tell him.

In the meantime, you can keep up with news on the subject at my sticky in the 4.6 tech section of mustangboards.com
