I'm seriously considering a 5.4L DOHC navigator engine 99-03 swap. I want to obviously keep the cost down as much as possible for the engine block/heads because i will be building the engine for a supercharger. I really dont want to spend 3700 to order a slightly used motor at karkraft...too me it just seems pointless if im going to be replacing everything in the heads anyways. Do any of you have suggestions for me to locate a good engine for a reasonable price?

Are they usually first offers that are reasonable or should i expect to haggle for it. I expect to pay 500-1000 for a great condition long block out of a newer navigator. Does that sound right?
