5.6 liter v8

i have a 2000 mustang gt and i had a rod bearing go out, so the motor froze up. i got the hookup on a 5.6 liter v8 turbo with trans and drivetrain. he said it came out of an 03 mustang gt and the motor only has 30,000 miles on it. hes also coming out tomorrow to measure it up and see if it fits.

my question is what do you guys think?

If it came out of a 03 Mustang GT it's a 4.6 liter, not a 5.6l.

i for sure asked the guy and he still says its a 5.6 liter. ive done a little research on them and they make them, thats about all i know

If so I am not familiar with it, so could you post a link to where they would be made, I can't say a 5.6 liter ford would be a common engine. I know Nissan uses a 5.6L V8.

Sounds like you need to do a little more research then. Ford never made a 5.6L Modular engine.....or an OHV engine for that matter. They do however have a 5.4L, but the only Mustangs that ever carried them were the '00 Cobra R and the newest Shelby GT500.

Sorry dude....I'd pass on this so called "deal". Sounds like this guys is just telling you whatever he thinks you need to hear in order to unload his junk.

a 5.6 V8 turbo sounds like it may be a diesel engine

the only V8 mustang engines in 2003 were 4.6 liter in either SOHC and DOHC versions

Doesnt it stike anyone as odd that he told him the engine came out of an '03 gt and he needs to come and measure to see if it fits in basically the same exact car?

Yeah, pass. Mustangs never got turbo's either unless it was a 4 cyl. SVO... 5.6 is not a Ford motor.

I was JUST getting on to post that, but you beat me to it. Dunno why no one thought of that earlier, lol.

If you can take a 4.6 and bore it to a 5.0, then im sure a 5.4 could turn into a 5.6.

a .020 overbore is 5.5l

scat makes stroker billet cranks all the way to 4.4". $4000.00 i believe.

they are good to 1500hp/1500tq.

JL uses them.

Yeah, my bad. Stroker kits are up to 5.0 in displacment. I was in a hurry typing that up, thats for clearing that up...

yes you can bore. it requires cutting the stock cylinders out and putting in Darton sleeves.

Actually a Stroker 4.6L is 302 CI, the Big-Bore 4.6L are 304 CI, both are 5.0L. You can sure as hell bore a 4.6L to 5.0L, that is what I have in my 96 TBird...

You can make a 5.4 a 5.6, but I seriously doubt that the setup in question has that. You are talking pretty big $$$ for the so called setup...

The money involved in that is insane though. The sleeves alone cost a retarted amount of money, not to mention the labor involved...
