Actually a Stroker 4.6L is 302 CI, the Big-Bore 4.6L are 304 CI, both are 5.0L.

Since we're being pedantic, they're actually both 4.9L.

You gotta love that Ford math, but I must admit the 4.9 badges wouldn't have looked near as cool as the 5.0 does.

"What, Chevy calls their 350 a 5.7, well then our 351 is a 5.8".

The money involved in that is insane though. The sleeves alone cost a retarted amount of money, not to mention the labor involved...

Ford Racing 5.0L Big-Bore Sleeves are $25.00 a piece, you need 8. That is really pricey...

My Big-Bore short-block from Renegade Racing was $900.00 more than a built aluminum 4.6 short-block with the same components. That is not insane to me...

My BB does not have the FRPP sleeves as those were not available at the time mine was built. If they were, the price difference between the built 4.6 and Big-Bore would be even closer than the $900.00...

I was JUST getting on to post that, but you beat me to it. Dunno why no one thought of that earlier, lol.

If you can take a 4.6 and bore it to a 5.0, then im sure a 5.4 could turn into a 5.6.

But how would the guy selling it know that its a bored 5.4L to a 5.6L....

I mean, he could get a good look at the T-bone steak by sticking his head up a butchers ass....no wait, its gotta be YOUR bull...

1) he is either getting is 5's and 4's mixed up (IE he meant 4.6L)

2) he is either getting his 4's and 6's mixed up (IE a 5.4L swap)

you better figure out really wtf hes talking about. if its a modular 5.6L turbocharched motor, its definately a pretty one-off setup going on, totally custom engine build basically. good luck.

Must have been looking at a wrong ad or something, I thought sleeves were $1200 or something. Oops.

If in fact this thing was bored and stroked to 5.6L, this guy would have mentioned it when sccplr09 asked him to clarify the displacement the first time. Like I said before, this guy either A) is trying to snow you, or B) hasn't got a clue as to what he has, or is talking about...in which case is another good reason to avoid this car altogether.

Let's also assume it is a 5.4 bored out to a 5.6L engine, with all the cost that it would have taken to do the job properly - what happens if something breaks on the car and you need to get into the engine? You, or any place around you know how to work on this engine?
