Hello new to group i have a 05 4.0 havent had issues until other night jumped in to leave hot springs and went to start and nothing the normal instrument lights not on and no crank ive jumped started and itll turn over it has power but not sure what is going on any ideas??
Battery has shorted out. Take it out and have it tested and it will be stone dead. Replace the battery and do NOT jump it anymore. The alternator isn't made to handle that kind of stress. If you keep jumping it and trying to start it, it will cash in the alternator too and then you're into a lot more money and time.
Ahh...forgive me. I would say your ignition switch has failed then. I thought that when you said jump it, you meant from a jump box or another vehicle. My mistake.
I honestly do not know if that vehicle has an immobilizer on it or not. You might google to see if there is one on there. I know that in Subarus, we see the immobilizer fail with that same kind of symptoms.
