5-lug swap...is it a DIY job?

even if it costs me $500 (10hrs) i think id feel more confident to know everything was done right. thanks for all the info guys but i think im going to let the mechanic do this job...better to be safe than sorry.

What are you going to swap from? I should have chimed in eairler...

What wheels do you want to run? Do you need rear discs? because a basic 5-lug swap shouldn't take more then 3-4 hours tops.

for the front use lincoln Mark 7 rotors, or for 4 cylinder cars, use ranger 4cyl front rotors. on the rear use 2 drivers side or 2 passenger side aerostar axles, and 9" ranger drums.

Now if you are going 4 whel disc, with SN95 stuff well then it is a little more involved and the advice here is good to go.... lol

sorry im doing a full cobra disc swap front and rear...nrc axles brackets etc...MM SS lines on all corners...sn95 balljoints and spindles etc...93 cobra MC and booster...overdoing it of course..lol...i also want to run 18x9 bullitts all the way around.

I did mine in 3 hours, but I swaped out the the whole rear axle housing with one I rebuilt before hand which I already did the brakes, axles and gears. But if I had to guess, I would add about 2-3 hours to that to just swap out the rear brakes and axles.
