Sure, as long as you support it, but don't expect it to live long in a stock roller block. Bad things will happen and the block won't hold against detonation at that power level.

i basically got exactly what i mentioned above, without any porting to either my intake or heads..

331, 8.8:1 compression, all forged internals, sportsman block
185 AFR heads
tfs track heat intake
75 accufab throttle body
v2-sq trim, stock pulley, afm power pipe
42lb injectors, 255 welpro in the tank, vortech inline pump, kurban fuel regulator
bbk long tube
deciding on weather to get 3" spintech or 2 1/2 ????

whatta ya guys think about my exhaust?

But i read and heard that my motor will probably be at 470 or so at the wheels, and im not looking for that !! i want over 500 at the wheels.. I see your SiSureshot, but u have porting to your heads and a smaller pulley. By the way Awesome car !! two thubs up..

You guys think i can hit it, any advice on what else i should do ?? thanks guys !!

you would want a r-302 block to be on the safe side.

I already had the block assembled on a sportsman block, this is a daily driver, and on occasions a visit to the track, but 90 % on the street where i wont be launching every day..

I just hear hella people say I cant hit the 500+ mark w/ my setup and I cant understand why, with you guys hitting that mark.. Am i missing something !!!

what is it that you guys have, or did that made you guys hit that mark??

Sportman block will hold up fine. Ill guess 535-550rwhp, I think the heads may hold you back. I would have went with 195's personally though. Nice combo btw.

Why not go with the smaller pulley and custom tune it..Im at 615 flywheel hp..and that is " detuned"

You dont know what your setup is giong to produce yet, so why are you so worrie about what "people" say, strap her on a dyno and then make adjustments....a little secret for ya...( its ALL in the cam )...

the cam that i have right now is a crower cam part number 15512... The specs listed are for 1.6 r.r. 93 cobras got the 1.7, and so the lift for my cam is .527/.544 112 lobe.. Does this cam seem good to ya guys, well good for my combo ??

what cam are you guys running ?? If i was to get a smaller pulley, do i need anything else to go with that pulley or do i just swap out pulleys? thanks ya'll

With a CUSTOM cam and worked heads it is possible...I would go with the 3" exhaust personally

Dyno Numbers are just that, don't put so much in to them. It all depends on how it runs.....

Hey 50, the 185 AFR heads are CNC ported out the box, i just got off the phone with my engine builder out here in Seattle, a well known builder.. He told me that my heads look really nice and for the cost of 400 for porting, im not going to gain a huge differance, especially with a bigger stroke and a supercharger... Thats a big reason why i got the AFR heads, there all CNC ported.. The next size up from 185's are the 205's..

So I dont think there going to hold me back from anything.. What does everyone else think ??

Yes AFR's are very good out of the box but they are not made to support 600HP out of the box....they benefit very well from some work. I'd personally suggest Ed Curtis @ FTI is you want them done.....

RICK, would you go 3" all the back ?? or would you go 3" to 2 1/2 " at the cat back to create more velocity? ( i believe thats the word/back pressure )
well just say that, to create more back pressure for tq ?

3" all the way back...

To get more boost you can get a LARGER diameter crank pulley, you can also use a SMALLER diameter blower pulley but this will spin the blower faster and can also lead to belt slippage.

You need to use the formula's on Vortech's web site to make sure you do not over spin the blower based on how many rpms you shift at and what pulleys you have. The larger boost requires a good tune, good bypass valve.... Do you have a tuner yet, PMS, EPEC, EEC TUNER, TwEECer, etc... What pipes are you running and what bypass valve?

As of right now I just have whatever vortech offers in its kit, with an AFM power pipe.. I have an FMU, but i dont think thats what your talking about, thats also included in the kit.. I was looking in getting the PMS to help out my tuner to tune my car but I dont have that kind of cash right now.. I didnt know you had to get all those things just to up the boost.. All i thought it was, was a smaller pulley on the blower itself an thats it.. I would get a mondo blow off valve, and a PMS..

I have the v2-sq unit.... Not sure what to rev limit is on that model, but with the cam that i have, the crower cam 15512, it only allows me to rev up to 62 at the most.. Most likely set my tach at 58k for a shift point..

Does these specs look good for my combo ? .527/.544 @ 112 lobe, not sure on the duration cuz i know it changed since i got the bigger r.r.. But with the 1.6's the durations is 222/228 @ 050... dont know how to figure that formula out ??
