Just recently sold the wheels/tires in my sig. Now I'm looking at putting some old school Pony wheels on it. You guys were right, my car looks better more stock. I have been looking at the pony wheel kit from 50resto with the Sumitomo HTR+ 245/50/16's. The wheels are Ford Racing.
Anybody had any good or bad luck with these wheels or tires or getting the kits from them?
Also I had 225/55/r16;s on her and they fit ok, Will these 245/50s have any fit issues?
Thanks in advance.

I got the Cobra R Rims (chrome 4-lug)/Summitomo Kit from them last year and had no issues whatsoever. They were delivered mounted and balanced right to my door. Picked up the chrome lug nut set as well (gave me a discounted price since I bought the rims and tires).
I'm actually selling my pony rims (have 2 sets). Let me know if you're interested.
Also, you shouldn't have issues with rubbing.

I got 93 cobra replica wheel/tire combo from them. 1 wheel had a mark on it, they sent another one and paid to have it mounted. I wouldn't worry, they will fix any problems if you have any.
Glowstang...your car is so clean you need some chrome Ponies!! Silver looks good too, but chrome will really make it pop!! Keep us updated.
BTW. I had a 92 with 245-50-R16 Goodyears on the stock Pony wheel. It looked good. Not too much buldge, and it made the car look tougher.

I agree with this. Plus, you could do a staggered 17" combo, maybe some 9s in the back and some 8s in the front, and you'd have a great stance with a stockish look.

If you want to run the same size tire all the way around, you should have no problem running 245/50's on a stock 7 inch wide pony wheel. It has been done numerous times and gives the car a mean look.
Pony R's would be cool like Jesse said for that stock but not stock look, and NikwoaC followed it up well with the idea of 8's in front with a 225/50 and 9's out back with a 245/45.
I also vote for Chrome on Reef Blue all day long! HOT combo!!

Wow, you guys have given me a lot to think about, appreciate all the ideas. Who sells the chrome pony's? Might not be in my price range at this time, but would still like to think about them. How much of a pain are chrome wheels? I have always had aluminum wheels. I don't plan on ever taking her back out in snow and very little in the rain except if it gets caught out by accident.
My old Welds will be going on a kids 92 calypso green 2.3 when he gets it back from body shop. I'm sure he will enjoy the bling.
I haven't driven it in 4 weeks now. I am suffering from some withdrawal, but it will be a blast the first time back out.

I think Mavromont makes the Pony R's. The chromes would look ridiculous on your car. I've never owned chrome wheels but I'm sure they aren't a pain if you garage your car.
An I haven't driven a Mustang in about a year and four months. Im going through some serious withdrawal!!!

The 225/55 16's that I have look like they were closer to the inner fender liner than what the 245/50's look like.
Chrome wheels aren't too bad. As nice as you keep your car, you won't have any trouble keeping the wheels looking new either!!
Just give them a good wax inside and out, before putting them on the car and clean and dry them off after washing. I have even blown compressed air all in the lug areas, and where the tire seals. This ensures ALL water is out. If they don't see salt and you keep up on them like I just said, you'll have them forever.

sorry, the front tires are 225/50/16s. they are low profile versions which is prolly why your look bigger. plus your sidewall is bigger

The Pony R's have given me a new appreciation for chrome Ponies. Maybe it's because I don't see brand new chrome Ponies often. The 10" chrome deep-dish, although it may be overkill on glowstang's car, is a thing of beauty.
