5spd swap crossmember ?s

i have heard that u need a 5spd crossmember to do an aod to t5 swap.....a buddy of mine did the swap and said that anyone who told me that was an idiot.......i got on 5.0 resto and only found one crossmember do they only list one because the new one is adjustable for either a 5spd or aod or what?

the reason it is adjustable is cause it is not welded yet. this way the crossmember can slide back and forth on the tubes. after you get the trann in there and mounted and all, then get it tack welded. only diff in x'members is whether it is single or double hump, far as i know.

depend on if you are running single exhaust or dual. prob double hump x'member is what you want.

its the same crossmemeber. but the bushing are just welded in a different place on the 5 speed/AOD. its possible to squeeze an AOD crossmemeber onto a 5 speed(as i have done) but my tranny mount is shot and will only make it worse.
