5th gear to 4th wont go...

For some reason i can not gear down from 5th gear to 4th gear.I can shift all the way up to 5th gear no problem but when i need to gear down to 4th it will not go.Any idea on whats going on here? Its becoming a pain in the a$$.

My old tranny did this also. The syncro in fourth is going. I would just go from 5th to third then to fourth but soon my 3rd gear syncro also went. Its time for some fixing in that t-5 of yours.

Thanks for the quick reply, ive been doing the 5th to 3rd to 4th gear thing also Just curious, how much would a job like this cost? I would probably do my clutch and replace my throw out bearing (squeals like a pig) since it would be apart.

I'm not sure i ran that tranny until i had no syncro's in any gear left. then i bought a world class t-5. I bet you could do it yourself. Aparentally there is a good video out there you can buy to tear down and rebuild the t-5.
