4 cyl to a 5.0 swap

hello
i have a 1993 4 banger with the battery on the driver side. i want to put in a 5.0 but i dont no if the wires in the car already will work. i know i have to get a new computer and o2 senser harness but will the main harness work for the 5.0 as well as the four

well its a 4 cyl harness.. because it only has 4 plugs for the injectors since it has 4 cyls lol i think it would be easier to buy a harness out of a 5.0 body or something.. same body so everything would go were it needed to with out a problem.. just my thoughts

well i have a new o2 harness and a new injector harness. i just need to know if i can take the four cylinder injector harness and the old o2 sensor out put the new computer in(hopefully it plugs in)and put in the new injector harness and o2 harness and change everything but the main harness and the one that goes to the dash

I just did a 4cyl swap and the computer hardness for a 4cyl and 5.0 are different so no they will not work. It is usually easier to buy the 5.0 harness, computer and motor/trans together anyways. But if you mean the other harness as in the one that is on the drivers side frame rail(unsure of the offical name) will work. You will need to extend the 2 alternator wires (like 5 inches) though since the 4cyl alt is on the drivers side and the 5.0 one is on the passengers side but the rest should all line up and clip in.

Make sure you get a motor harness from your year car too. I believe 87-89 are the same and 90-93 are the same- not positive about the 90-93 though. You can use either of them but the 90+ will have extra sensors under the hood for the airbags and will have an extra connector (white clip) down by the computer on the inside of the car. I had a few issues with a 91 gt harness on my 89 lx(few clips were different) so i ended up taking the easy route and exchanging my 91 harness for a 89 gt harness with a local guy who parts mustangs. I personally recommend trying to find a harness made for the year of your car if at all possible to save time and aggravation.

If you have any other questions about the 4cyl swap drop me an email at [email protected] I'll be happy to answer your questions.
