60' times with Nitto Drag and then BFG's or MT's?

What are some of you guys getting at the track with Nitto's and then what are you getting with MT's and BFG's? On my Nitto's I can only get 2.10s out of them and no better. And that is with like 15lbs of air in them. How much time can I drop with a better set of tires? Thanks.

Nitto 555r's. I got a 1.96 60' with 85 degree temps and about 80% humidity. Oh, and 18 psi.

my first day on the nittos i ran a 1.91 but i figured out how to launch of them now and i think ill be able to get into the low 1.8s with some more work

So how are you suppose to launch them? And how big of a burnout do I need to do? Thanks

The best results will usually come in like this.

M/T ET Street radials.

BFG DR's.

Nitto 555R's.

Alot of people gripe that the Nitto's are poor at the track but great on the street. I've heard this personally and through alot of people posting their results.

BFGs totally SUCK on the street....but GREAT at the track.

Nittos are decent on the street, but arent very good at the track.

MTs FREEGIN ROCK on the street....work GREAT at the track.

From my experience, I will NEVER EVER buy BFG DRs again. Nittos....MAYBE, but most likely not.

MTs? Oh HECK yea....just have to wait for them to come off freegin back order (315/35/17)

Nittos require much more of a burnout than bfg's or MT's. Don't be scared to run them at 12-13psi either. With 3.73's and 260rwhp, I was seeing 1.80-1.90s on my 98. Track prep has a lot to do with it, but I would shoot for 1.85's depending on your gearing and power with the nittos. Power, gearing and track prep has a lot to do with drag radials.

Best 60' is a 1.91 with 20lbs. in teh Nitto dr's.

not sure if my numbers are any help, auto tranny here.....anyways....

BFG Drag Radials @ 18psi - 1.75 60'ft.....started the burnout, held it for 5secs while they were smoking.

MT Drag Radials @ 18psi - 1.71 60'ft....same as above.

i smoked them for about 2 seconds and had the tire pressure at 25psi and slipped the clutch at 4k

I ran my 315/35/17 BFG DR's at 12psi, did a huge burnout, and dumped the clutch at 5500. Cut a 1.79 60 foot, and my best time to date of a 12.99@105.

People complain about the nitto, but they seem to work pretty well. I've only been to the track once since I got them, and there was no track prep that night. Still, I got a best of 1.92 with my peg leg turbo car with small 245-45-17s. I'd like to see what they can do with some real track prep and a limited slip diff... or not, it'd probably break the 7.5" rear end.

You definately have to put a lot of heat in the nitto. My best 60' times came from hot lapping the car and doing a big burn out each time. I ran 18psi, but I plan to bump them to about 22psi next time, to gain back some of the mph I'm missing.

If you want tires to run only at the track, then buy the Mickey or BFG. If you want something you can drive on the street without changing your tires at every oil change, get the Nitto.

I have no experience with the others, but with Nitto DRs @20lbs cut a 1.90 mounted to the stock 17x8s so 275/40/17 size. Few second burn out driving through the water box.

good 60's can be had with the nittos with practice. heck i went 1.88 on 245 street tires spraying nitrous while slipping the clutch clutch was not too happy but it worked lol

I liked my Nittos on the street and they were better then regular tire at the track. For my 96 Cobra I found the tires didnt like to be burned out for too long before they were almost greasy. If I would spin them for 1-2 seconds and had them at 20 lbs I saw a 1.92 60' Unfortunatly that was the only time I got to run her before I sold it.
BTW when I did a big time smokey burnout my 60' was dismal and the car couldnt hook through most of second and that was only a 300 rwhp car

Almost forgot. The Pilot 2 that I have now really handle 450 rwhp nice. They hook better then my Nittos did. Down side is $472 each
