65 coupe stock hood question.

i have a newly painted 65 coupe with 289ci it has edelbrockn performer intake a 700 cfm electric choke carb. im wondering will a 3" k&N fit it. and if so what bottom plate. i bought one not sure which bottom plae it has but was to tall need lower one. any help would be grate. i did see in jegs that they have a 3" but with a 1 & 1/4 drop base so they say its only 2. 75" tall some how from the carb flang so im pretty sure thatd fit. if memory serves correctly a 2& 1/4" tall clear hood which is main concern but wondering about clearence with sence its a electric choke. i really would like to stick with 3" k&n and the electric choke carb and performer manifold but question is what plate do i need so it clears my hood and choke???? help would be geat on this...
