i'm not sure if you found a solution or not, but are you sure its actually the front causing the problem?
bump steer is merely the toe changing during suspension travel.........by definition it isn't holding the front end up.
the first time I installed cal-trac bars in the rear, I had them adjusted incorrectly, and it would do exactly what you are describing. front end up, would not settle down( unless I hit the brakes) and scary to steer,
once the cal-tracs were adjusted correctly, steers and drives like it should again.
