ive been looking at the American Racing Torque Trust 2's, the seem to look the best. im not sure if i want to go with 15s 16s or 17s. i like the look of 17s but tire prices are pretty high for those and ive heard its better to have smaller rims for traction? i plan to make this car a lil twords a road racer so i want it to handle well. any suggestions on that? and after that...whats the widest i can go all around without having to do anything to the body? and backspacing suggestions? thanks

1. 17s are the way to go for road racing in my opinion...that's why I run them.
2. Drag racing I think 15s are the way to go simply because of slick availabiliy...they do make plenty of drag radials in 17 now though
3. Pricing....I love my Nitto 555 tires. They are a top of line tire at the entry level price point of some of the other manufactures. You don't need those protenzas ;) for the price you can have a set of Nittos for the street and a set of road race specific track tires
4. Click the link in my sig....the mod wheel chart will answer all your questions but to generallize 17x8 4.75bs 235 45 17 on all 4 corners fits good in most applications....but every car is different so make sure you examine the charts closely. I run a 255 in the rear and a 235 in the front on my 65.

im found some different rims than i like..they are the american racing Hopster. im found out that i probably want to go with 16x8 all around with 225/50 16 tires. i think i need 4 1/2 backspacing to fit them in correctly without problems...the problem is i cant seem to find the right backspacing..i can only find 4 and 4 3/4? are there spacers for the 4 or can 4 3/4 work fine? any suggestions?

Performance wheel outlet/Bullet wheel 180 series(chrome)

Hey Man,

Ive got the real anwer for your tire and rim sizes, for I just got doing this not long ago. I have a 66 coupe but it will work just fine for ya. Go to www.performancewheeloutlet.com and check them out. They have thier prices listed on the website. I put on 17" by 8" 180 series Bullet rims and gave me free shipping and handling plus 2 different style center caps. One as youll see on the website, plus caps that look like the tip of a bullet. They look awsome. The wheels came with a 0 offset with a 3 1/2 in. backspace. Run some 235/45/17 in the front and 245/45/17 for the rear. Thats what I did, and it works really well. Ill have some pics soon.Once I can figure out how to upload them, My computer is very slow. Hope this helps.
My whole package from them (chome) came to about 750.00. I had to do no modifications either, Im bone stock on my suspension. They work really great. thanks ,
