Hey guys, I am converting my 3 speed to an auto. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what all is needed as far as the kickdown goes. I have seen a kit for sale by Scott Drake I believe that has the cables and looks like brackets. I am wondering if that is all I will need or if there are more lines or anything. All my cars and trucks have always been standard trannys so never worked much with kickdowns. Any tips or tricks? I have the C4 already, bought new crossmember for the 66 C4, have the flywheel and am buying a tranny cooler (possibly new radiator, depending on the one I have now passing leak tests). I am thinking of a hurst floor shifter.
Also, is it gonna be a pain pulling the clutch pedal out? Anything else I need to worry about? Speedo cable maybe? What about neutral safety switch...how does that get wired into the ignition. Hmmm, the more I think of it the more daunting it is. In a perfect world there would be a how-to out there by someone who has already done all this.
