'66 Hood Ornament Original?

I've never seen a mustang with a hood ornament - is that original?

I believe the seller states that the hood ornament is aftermarket. There were lots of aftermarket stuff, both good and bad, offered for these cars when they first came out. I have a special edition Mustang mag (vintage 1965) that lists numerous add-ons for the new Mustang, including an all wood replacement dash, a see-through plastic hood, a horseshoe shift knob, and a gold plated ign key (to name a few).

No Mustangs did not have hood ornaments. Ford had good taste!

the only ornaments you will find on a 65-67 Mustang was the word FORD in chrome letters on the hood near the edge. They stopped in '68.
