Evening folks,

I have following the discussions in regards to the 13" front brakes.

I am working on a 66 fast back.

I would like to run some type 13" disc and a PBR caliper. I have some expirence from my 79 Camaro. C5 Corvette (1.25" thick x 13"dia) rotors and calipers.

I have a set of C5 rotors left over from the Camaro and was eyeballing them on a extra 66 5 bolt hub that came with the car. The I.D of the rotor is larger than the O.D of the hub which means it needs a machined collar to center the rotors.

The collar is not a problem,a simple machinist part. After the collar is installed I will transfer punch the wheel stud holes from the hub over to the rotor and drill the rotor to the 4.5" hole pattern. Anyone see anything wrong with this?

The big question is the strength of the spindle assembly.

Is it up to the task with a 13" dia. rotor?

Baer and Willwood bolt the caliper bracket to the spindle using the 4 bolts on the stock spindle.

Anyone with broken spindles from those products?

Any comments are welcomed.
