Does anybody have a drawing or dimensions that I could use to fab up a crossmember for installing a t5 in my 68. I thought I remembered seeing one a while back but can't seem to find it using the search.

i posted one a while back that i designed, but it was for a 66. your best bet is to get the dims off the car and just draw up your own. fordmuscle.com has a write up with the critical dims from the T5, toploader, and C4 trans that i based mine off of. it basically has to be deeper and sit a little further back. search my posts, the pics should still be there somewhere. if not shoot me a PM and i'll send you what i've got.

3spd,

I have seen the fordmuscle.com site articles. But I don't remember there being any C4 dims which would be what I need. The had all the info for the T5 and I have a C4 mount so if I had the C4 dims I could calculate the differences in the mounts. I found the thread that I think you posted some pics in:

But nothing shows up

Anyway check your PM's and thank you for the help.

Just bolt the trans in there. Then get a $4.00 angle gauge from a hardware store. Use a floor jack to lift the tailshaft to the right angle ("right angle" is dependant on how the angle of your rearend pinion angle).

Then take some cardboard cut into strips that are the same thickness as the steel you plan on using. Make a mockup using the cardboard some tape and a sharpie marker. Cut your steel and the tack weld the pieces together. Adjust accordingly. Then finish welding.

I personally couldn't pay over $100 dollars for some steel. I think I spent maybe $15 dollars on mine.
