67 Coupe body work and rust question

I am considering taking a swing at doing some of the body work myself on my 67 coupe project. My question is:

Is there a recommended book, or reference material for helping a person thru trying to learn and do their own "minor" body work?

Are there some recommended tools? I do have a compressor and a pot sprayer already.

Now for my rust question. I have having some sections of my floor replaced/welded in. And there are some sections that seem to have surface rust. Is there a method/product I can use to prevent or slow the spread of the rust?

Any other advice/experience is greatly appreciated.
