Does anyone know what the distance between the tops of the shock towers on a 67 is? I think they may have been spread out too far while welding the upper control arm braces in place. An even better measurement would be at the upper control arm mounts if you dont have an engine in. I have my complete suspension in and the tops of the wheels are still tilted out after moving the lower control arms all the way out.

cant help you on a measurement..but I doubt they moved. Shock towers are strong as hell...If they seem like they are out to much, they will move back in a tad when you get it on the ground and a motor/trans in it.

When welding the braces in place I used a hydraulic ram to push them back out to the towers, Gave them a few hits from a big hammer a to relieve the stress and then welded them. I would like to make sure they are in the right place before I put the engine back in because it will be easier to pull back into place without a motor in the way.

wouldn't a Monte Carlo bar give the proper distance?? .... like 40" (m/l) just in front of the towers where the bar would mount .... like 33 5/8" shock center to shock center .... not exact, but close to see if you're in the ballpark .... hope this helps ....
