I have a 69 coupe with a vinyl top.Have been looking for the vinyl top trim peices that run from the back window to the side window. They Finish off the vinyl top.The problem Ive bought two sets of trim one black and one was chrome.They are about 3 inches to short.Both are off 69s the black set was on a le grande coupe in florida,the chrome off a 69 in arizona.Did they make diffrent style roofs?I see one of the members car is 69 Gt coupe.Im stumped can anyone help out,Thanks 75 mustang II

Is the vinyl roof on your car factory installed? If it was dealer installed that could be your problem. Do you have the trim pieces from your car to compare?

Mr fix it,The top is new,I installed it,the car has factory drilled wholes along the side.Holding the trim peices in line with the factory wholes I end up 3 inches short.Did not get the factory trim peices with the car.It was a basket case someone else tore apart.Ill never buy another thats been dissassembled.Ill get some pictures up later today,maybe they will help.

Do you have the wide trim that goes around the back glass? That's the only reason I can think of why they won't fit unless you have the wrong year of trim. I had a 69 with vinyl top once. It had the black moulding. I don't have any pics that show any detail though.

Not sure about 69 but 70 had Landau style vinyl roof.

no landau in 69. i believe the side trim pieces are the same for the 70 with or without landau anyway

Ive got the wide trim around the back window already installed.It looks good and fit well.Was playing ping pong with my 16 year old son lastnight.Did not get out for the pictures.Will get them up later today.Thanks everyone for the help. 75 mustang II

Pictures of trim pieces

I put the blue connectors in the factory drilled holes in the vinyl top.The rest of the pictures are of how the trim pieces fit.

Pictures of car

My son thinks a black rear trunk spoiler would look good.What do you guys think?They are listed for the fastback only in the parts book,has anyone ever put one on a coupe?Thanks for looking 75 mustang II

you've got the wrong trim pieces. the ones you need are very different and there will be 4 pieces total, they will also be black and have sort of a vinyl grain to them.

vinyl top trim

Bnickle,Thanks for the pictures,Nice car by the way.Was searching e-bay and noticed how all the trim peices came to a point.Where mine are angled and going over the back part.Hard to beleive I can get the same wrong peices from two totaly diffrent parts of the country,Arizona and florida.Read somewhere that someone had some custom made,maybe I should be checking someplace like speedy auto top? 75 mustang II

Thanks Bnickle,Im not sure of the year of the peices I have,But if anyone needs any trim Ill give them a good deal.I also have some mustang letters left over for the trunk,If anyone is interested.Does someone have a picture of a coupe with a black wing on the trunk?Would like to see one.Thanks again 75 mustang II
