New to the site, and Im going to go look at this 69.It was a 302 boss car with auto tranny. The motor is gone and I dont beleive the tranny is there either. The car is 1/2 dissasembled but all their still. It is inside a garage. What type of things should I be checking out(areas known to rust things like that)? This wont be my first rebuild,Ive done a few but never a mustang.Any advise would be welcomed. 75 mustang II

302 coupe, Thanks for the replie,That is a good peice of info to take with me.I probably will still be interested .The price for the car is 1000.00 and if not all rusted out ,I think it would be a descent project. Thanks again. 75 mustangII

For a solid fastback body, 1k is worth it as 302 coupe stated. Check the trunk, rear wheel wells, cowl and the floorpans for rust. Rule of thumb is that bodywork will typically cost more than drivetrain. 2k+ will get you a decent paint job without body filler and stuff. 2k can buy you a working engine and tranny.

302 gave you the answers. Be sure to post the vin and door tag (if available) so we can tell you what you've got.

Also... if it is a solid fastback in pieces for 1k... and it's anywhere on the East Coast.... Let me know and I'll be glad to take it if you don't want it. :D

Will get the vin and post it up for decoding. Thanks for all the replies.Sounds like typical rust out areas to check.Have not seen it in person , only Heard about it from a friend that has seen the car. Will be going tommorrow 12 /14/05 75 mustang II

Had to go thru a ice storm, but made it out to check on that 69.Its outside patially covered with a tarp. Was told this is its first year for being not stored in a garage. Its a 1969 mustang LeGrande. All interior stripped and stored inside out of the weather.Solid car and very straight no dents.Silver in color with auto on the floor.Bought the car for 1000.00 .Brang home the interior grill and stuff in the back of my truck.Need to go back and pickup the front and back glass, and flat bed the beast home. The interior is in usable shape with alot of woodgrain on it.Front bucket seats need to be recovered but back seats are fine.Im stoked ,cant wait to get started on cleaning it up.Will get vin for decoding ,and the only thing I know for sure on the motor is it was a V-8.Im sure Ill be asking some Questions? I hope you guys dont get tired of hearing from me.75 mustang II
