69 Vert or Fastback?

Ok guys....I've always dreamed of having a 69 fastback. But recently I've been looking at lots of pics and info on the web and am starting to lean towards getting a Vert. After seeing a convertible with the rear fender scoops like on the Mach 1s I think it may have replaced my desire for a fastback. Plus I live in San Diego and having a convertible would be very nice!

What do you guys think? How difficult would it be to replace the rear fenders of a convertible with the fenders from a Mach 1 or any rear fender with those scoops? It seems to me like it would just be a matter of replacing the skins but I could be wrong.

I've seen the episode and I distinctly remember them saying that the fastback quarters gave more room for wide tires. I'm not sure if that's true. I would think the wheelhouses would have to be different to provide a different amount of room for tires. I know there's a flat spot on the top of the convertible wheelhouse to give enough room for the top to retract, but I believe that otherwise they are the same.

I always liked these scoops on the 69 CV:

I used to work for a guy who owned a '69 GT350 ragtop. I loved that car.
I agree with Hack, I don't see how adding the FB quarters will give you more tire room without making changes to the Wheelhouses. There was a fair amount of hype and misinformation on Overhualin.
