I looking into swapping out the factory 6x8 in my 95 with the mach 460 system. I have a pioneer deh-p7600mp cd player in the car now. I was thinking about getting the pioneer 6x8 3 or 4 way speakers. What do you guys recommend instead of the pioneer's or are they o.k. speakers to use. I plan on subs later in the future but for now I want something better than stock. All opinions welcomed. Thanx!

Infinty Kapaa series, hands down, no other options. I have heard LOTS of speakers, and in my last 2 cars I have put in Infinity Kapaa series, in my opinion, the best. They are kinda expensive, but you really get what you pay for. If you get a set of Kapaa's and slap some dynamat around them, they will sound great. Trust me on this one, and if you want to know a little trick to buying them and saving some money let me know and I will type it up for you later on.

Pick out whatever speakers you want, Infinity or whatever, at www.etronics.com, they have the cheapest prices anywhere, but dont buy from them! I have heard that there service is not that great. After you find what you want, go over to www.sounddomain.com and find the same set of speakers. On sounddomain you can get a 105% price match, so not only do you get the pirce at etronics, but you get 5% off of that. Thats what I did to buy all of my equipment, saved me a lot of money. Good luck.

Here's the real question: What speaker sizes can I fit in my doors that are not 6x8's ???

I have yet to find a quality 6x8 speaker that sounds good.

Currently using: Pioneer 6x8 2-ways

Don't waste your time, but if you do, don't spend the extra on the 3-ways, they are too harsh and will tear your head off .

I know they dont make 6x8's I used 5x7 kappa series, same difference, you may need an adaptor, but you may not, trust me the small loss in size will not be a big deal. The reference are nice, but the kappas have seperate crossovers, which equals clearer music at higher volumes, and the kappas are just more durable, trust me you want kappa series.

Some posts say aftermarket speakers do not sound good with the mach460 amps. The amps are tweaked to compensate for the quality of the speakers.

I have the same pioneer headunit and I think it sounds good with the stock setup. Please report back how it worked out when you change speakers.

Also if you want you can put in 5 1/2" speakers in you doors you just have to make of find adaptor plates to get them to work. I did this to get components in my doors and it was easier and cheaper to go with the 5 1/2". I want to the orion components they are not cheap but never sound bad no mater what kind of music is played.

hey wing,
so those are 5X7's in the front door also, huh? I was thinking about going with the 5.25 components up there but wondered about how easy that would work. I'm not opposed 5X7 components. what are the thoughts here folks?

The size of the speakers is 6x8 all the way around but is not hard to get 5.25" in there. If you order ur components from some places like crutchfield.com they include the adapters for free.
