7.5 or 8.8 rear end

For a daily driver, will a 7.5 give out on me with my engine? I have 3.73 gears for it too.

And has anyone done a 5 lug swap? is it hard? Any recommendations on a manufacturer to go with? If I want to do it myself, what parts do I need and where can I get them from? I already have the shafts from a Bronco II.

What about tire size?

Thanks

Yes, absolutely even.

Thats what happens when I don't check my spelling

OK, actually that works great for me because I have a 7.5" in my truck presently and will be "upgrading" to an 8.8". The only 8.8" that I KNOW will be the right width are the mustang 8.8"'s (drums) and I have 5 lug wheels. This means that I won't have to get more axles :).

The 94-up axles are about 1/2 in wider due to the exciter rings for the ABS. They'll work if you get rims with the right offset. The 8.8 housing is the same width as the 7.5 up to at least 98..
The 7.5 will live as long as you dont get some sticky tires.
