Knob Noster, Mo.
My dad went to close the driver's side door and the glass from the mirror fell off and broke into about a dozen pieces. The mirrors were just over a year old so I'm a tad pissed (at the situation, not my dad since it wasn't really his fault). I got the mirrors through Mustangs Unlimited, but I seriously doubt I still have the receipt and I doubt there was really any kind of warranty with them.

They are these mirrors:

So question #1: Does anyone know of anywhere that I could get replacement mirror glass? Because it has curves, I doubt I could just run down to Lowes and have them cut a piece for me.

And if getting replacement mirror glass it out, I'm looking into the possibility of moving the passenger's side mirror (just standard flat mirror glass) over to the driver's side and getting a new mirror (that matches my current set) for the passenger's side that's slightly convex ("objects in the mirror are closer than they appear" type). I know I've seen one somewhere before, but I can't recall where. Does anyone know of any place that has those?

EDIT: Or option 3 - If I can find a used mirror of the same style on ebay for cheap, any tips for removing the mirror glass w/o breaking it so I can glue it to my existing mirror?

Get an F-150 mirror from salvage and take it to a glass place with your mirror and tell them you want that glass in that hole. They'll remove it and make a template and install it for you. Tell them you want to keep the text, it'll be slick and people will wonder where you got it.

If you wear a red bustier like your avatar has and bat your eyes, you might get a decent discount, LOL!! ;) Oh, and talk real southern, like Jessica Simpson in the Dukes of Hazzard.

LOL. No red bustiers, but I have a few low cut shirts. ;)

I'll have to look around and see what glass shops are in the area, but if they can cut the curves, I probably will go that route. I could get my convex mirror and it would probably still be cheaper than dropping another $40 on a replacement mirror.

Yeah, I'm going to check the glass shops probably on Friday. I checked the mirrors from Old Sadie because they're larger than these mirrors, but they're both just the standard flat mirrors. I don't really want to take the time to dig through a junk yard or pay the shipping to get a big convex mirror on ebay so I'll just have them cut a flat piece and stick with that and my little blind spot mirrors.

I took it to a glass shop and had a new mirror cut. I'm really not all that pleased with their work, but it only cost $10 so I figure it's worth that to have use of the mirror until I figure something else out.

I'm going to either keep an eye out on ebay for a used version of the same mirror for cheap and/or play around with my dremel and grinder and some scrap mirror pieces and see what I can accomplish.

They're not stock. Here's a pic:

Thanks for the offer, though.

Went to close the door today and the other mirror glass fell out. At least this one bounced twice and only chipped a couple corners. That's 2 broken mirors in a week. If anyone's considering getting those mirrors (link below), don't waste your money.

The housings themselves are nice, heavy metal, but they really did a ****ty job glueing the glass in.
