71-73 Rear end picture?

The owner at the body shop told me the right rear area by the tail light has factory seams. I think th body work is shoddy there. It has welds and or filler built up too much. What do you think?

Looks like there is some damage just above the tail light. Here a pict of my 73 when they were cutting in the paint on the new tail light pannel, there was nothing like what you have

ya looks liek some damage or a rust spot showing upt threw the paint to givei t that bubble looks. something def. isnt right doesnt look like mine either.

Run through the links at the top of THIS PAGE, they should give you a pretty clear view of where the seams really are. Note that I filled and smoothed the seams - so the primered pics aren't as originally manufactured.

Edit: Note - with the trunk lid closed and corner castings in place, there are no visible seams - thus your body mans claim is incorrect.

I know that's not right. You will have to strip that area to see what's going on underneath. Good Luck!
