Theres nothing wrong with the stock shifter but to be truthful we all like to add personal flare to our cars. So I was wondering what people have found to use with the 4speed. I'm partial to hurst shifters (aren't most people?) But I'm curious to what options there are.
Tried doing a forum search but I think I'm stupid lol

With the 4-speed, and the way that reverse functions, I don't believe there really are any options other than changing the knob to something other than the stock bakelite unit. Never seen a short-throw - or other aftermaket unit - compatible with the RAD4. I'm pretty sure the SR4 (Borg Warner's Jeep version of the similar transmission) used a different setup so I don't think those will interchange either. If someone has a different answer I'd be interested as well. I believe a T5 swap would open up a lot more options (including clutch options).

Might end up having to custom make one or heat up and bend the stock one. I love the 4speed way to much to swap it out lol

I admire that attitude as a fellow II owner. I have the 4-speed still myself (with the 2.8).

not sure how it would work, but i have heard of some ii's using a modified Audi shifter since they have a push down ->left reverse gear as well. i will try find the page i read up on that.
