Hey StangNet,

My father and I have been on the lookout for a 79 Cobra like we had when I was a child.

Searching the local classifieds, we came across a 79 Mustang "Daytona". It was Orange, had Smoked panels over the front grill/lights, rear lights, and wire wheels.

I have searched all over, and cannot find any concrete info on it. In fact, the only thing I found was this picture from the April 09 issue of Mustang Enthuiast's Mag:

Car is a 302 w/T-5 swap. Guy had the original SROD included.

Is there any place with further info? He is not far out on the price, all things considered. It's not my favorite looking Fox, but is a very clean car.

Thanks!

That's a very rare vehicle. Pics?

Sorry, I can't help with the info.

This is the first i've ever seen of it, but i sort of like that nose cover thing. It would be interesting to hear the story on who built the car.

Bear in mind, there's only one. If it is not the car in the magazine, it is a fake.

I think the magazine you posted says it all, one of a kind and I like the smoked front panel. At the same time I would still keep an eye out for an early fox cobra. There was a 79 pace car roller listed here in Texas, but I never had the chance to check it out.
