i am rebuilding and upgrading my stock 8.8 rearend. I have already purchased an Eaton (ETN-19588-010) posi locker 31 spline, Superior 31 spline axles (SAG-EV80), and Ford Motorsports 373 gears. I am wanting to replace everything else while I am in there. Can anyone help me with what axle bearings I will need? Also a name brand and where to buy, I am not worried about cost if they are worth it in quality. I am just not sure what size. Also, what about pinion bearings and carrier bearings. Does this cover everything so that all is new? Help me on all other things such as c clips, gear oil, friction modifier, etc. just anything that I can replace to have all new parts and where to buy. Thanks in advance.

heres a timken master rebuild kit with axle bearings see description its everything you need for a rebuild minus gears, fluid and speedo gear you will need this be sure to tell them you have Superior 31 spline axles before purchase so they send right bearings.

i would run synthetic gear oil....no need for friction modifier...

Well since your going to put all that money and time and fancy stuff in there you might as well go here and get there cover and studs, i got the cover and MAN is it nice! http://www.taperformance.com/ Read the directions and BTW you'll need 3 quarts instead of the 2 3/4, and i used amsoil rearend fluid! What state you live in? peace

I forgot to mention that I have a ford motorsports aluminum girdle. Anymore help with what and where to buy? Please, all help and opinions welcome if you have experience. And as far as synthetic, EATON sends their differentials with a bright yellow tag that says NO SYNTHETIC gear oils. It calls for GM part numbers. Any ideas on where to get this or do i go another route??

Just read this thread and am curious why they say no synthetics? If the synthetic you plan to use meets the spec they are looking for, it should perform better than a petroleum: better protection, cooler operation, etc.

I would use whatever bearings Carquest had for it. Timken is the most well known bearing manufacturer.

If you're hardcore, get the bearing numbers and interchange and just buy the Timkens. Otherwise nearly any parts store item should work if properly installed and lubricated.

No, thats incorrect. You still use the stock fill plug for determining how much fluid it takes. My buddy and I just completly built up my rear and I used an LPW girdle. You use the stock fill hole, once it starts pouring out of that, its full.

Btw, I used torrington axle bearings if I recall.
