What cars came with 8" rears and what (if you remember) were their gear selections?

All the small to intermediate sized Fords & Mercs got 8's from the mid 60's to 1980. Most had 2.79's. A few got 3.40's. Don't recall the other gearing numbers.

the 70's mavericks are the best to look, they range anywhere from 2.79's, 3.00, 3.25, 3.40, and 3.55 I think.

To add to Danny Hearne`s info

All the small to intermediate cars that had a five lug suspension and small block v-8`s (except for shelbys) had 8 inch rears. 4 lug car (6 bangers) had smaller, like 6 1/2 inches or something like that.

I think Pintos came with 8's as well, and the ones that race at the local circle track use stock 3.55 gears. I have a set laying on my garage floor that I'd sell cheap, if anyone wants to pay shipping or pick them up if your in the area

Yep, the Pinto, Bobcat, Mustang II's, Granada, Monarch all got 8's. The small cars with the small engine's will have the best gearing for performance, the Granada/Monarchs would all have had 2.79's.

What do you want for them? How much for shipping to 31558?
