Hey all, Im ussally in the Mustang II thread, but I got a buncha questions for all you experts (and those that think they are
)
I just bought my dads ranger (82, 2.3/ auto) Its got a breand new C-4, but the motor has some problems. It leaks oil at an UnGawdly rate, and theres a tick in the head (pretty loud one)
Id like to put new gaskets in it, and keep it as cheap as possible. So Im hopeing the compression tests out good. But Im really worried about that tick. Ive had a few cars with this motor, and every one of em had valve noises. But none like this.
I know its hard to diagnose over an internet thread, but does anyone have any Ideas?? I guess if it domes down to it, I can just yank off the head, and hve it re-done. What are the chances of that taking the bottom end out?? Its over 100k miles, sooo......
also, should I stick a lil bit of a cam on it?? I know the stock ranger one has a bit of torque, but its turnin about 3600 RPMs at 65, and the cam starts getting weak on the highway.
I hope some of this makes sence, Thanx for any advice Ya'll have.\
Jon.
