'83 harnesses... what will work?

Basically all the harnesses, especially in my engine bay, are horible. The sheaths are falling apart and there are splices/electrical tape everywhere and I'm simply tired of looking at it. Are there kits for this? (I thought I saw one for 84+ from painless at the Hot August Nights car show, but can't find it online anywhere) Will a universal kit work, or am I stuck making a trip to the junk yard and praying, I've never had a lot of luck finding 83's there. Also will harnesses work from other years?

I know it's a lot of questions so anything will help.
