83 V6 Converitible Wiper issues

I know this isn't quite considered classic but I can't really figure out which section this goes in because the years listed don't cover 83. anyhow I have a wiper/washer system that has the internal governor for intermittent wipers and it has died. I'm having great difficulty finding the governor and was wondering if anyone know of a way to wire around and and forget the whole intermittent wiper thing. I've got a Hayes manual and the wiring diagram but it doesn't really help me much.

You have a 5.0 Foxbody car. This question is more suited for the 5.0 Tech board. That said I dunno why you can't replace the control box (The one marked "DO NOT DROP") and be good to go? They're a $40 item at BlottoZone.
