84 hatchback 5 lug convet. using parts from a 95GT?

I was wondering if anyone knew if the complete rear end from a 1995 Mustang GT can just be swapped onto a 84 hatchback. It looks to me that the front suspension are pretty much the same and I should have no problem there. Also if anyone here is from or have lived in Texas and could let me know how old a car has to be to qualify as a classic car. I really appreciate any info on this

yes it is a direcyt relplacement. but it will widin your wheel base.

For all the brake info and using the SN95 brakes on a Fox, see http://sn95brakes.com You will have other things to change to use the rear disc brakes like MC, PV ebrakes and stuff. Read up on the above website.

Regarding the classic car question, it is 25 to be exempt from all emissions testing, so the 83s are now going to be exempt. You have one more year for yours.

Thanks for the input guys. I thought it was pretty much a direct fit except for a little bit of modding to the brakes. I also thought it was 25 years but someone told me that it was 24 and that you could only put so many miles a year on a classic car. I really appreciate the help though.

In MA, it's 25 years and you have a milage restriction and can only drive the car on Sundays or to/from a car show in the area.

I guess I'll have to see if it will still pass emissions standards with a 351w in it. I guess if anything I could put some tolulene or xylene in the tank and that would supposedly lower its emissions output. I just jacked up both my 95 gt and 84 LX and I can see that their rear ends are the same and that except for widening the wheel base a little that it will be the same. I want to use the 95's because it has 3.73's in it and disc brakes. It also has wide 03 Cobra chrome wheels with brand new 255/35's so a wider wheel base won't hurt.
