Holy chit!! Think he almost got all 4 wheels off the ground! Had to tear some stuff up. Btw I definetly think you've got a 4.8 left in your car. Especially after some more time tuning/experimenting and some good air. That sounded like an incredibly fast field.

Outlaws at Atco was great this past weekend! We learned a lot and got some good data from the car. I'm fairly confident that we could bracket race the car at this point.... It goes 5.0x almost every single pass at this point. We have been taking small steps in creeping up on the tune and had our best time Saturday, 5.00@143 which I am very happy about! I think I will make a few small changes in the winter but nothing to major. I see a gear ratio change in the near future as well... It's been really nice not having to completely tear the car down after taking it to race, here are a few pictures from the weekend

Very nice, good to hear that the car is running great as well as consistent. Are you going to a higher gear to dial it in better for the 1/8?

That's the plan, I may put a second third member together to be able to switch between a 1/4 mile setup for TrueStreet and an 1/8 mile setup for X275
The car should pick up pretty good in the 1/8 if we switch to the 3.89 rear gear vs the 3.50 that we have in it now

What gear and what rpms are you at when you reach the 1/8?

Nick's car is a BMF! Not a lot of street cars can make the field in X275, and run a 5.0 1/8th with a 1.23 short time!

We are in second gear (1:1) with a powerglide and cross the 1/8 @ 7450rpms with the 3.50 gears. I would expect/want the car to cross in the 8000-8200rpm range with the 3.89 gears

Even after all that, there is still a lot of power left in the tune up. We aren't trying to be greedy and are making baby steps. Each outing it goes faster and faster. More trap rpm will mean more boost and you know what that means!

Thanks! That UPR hook has been so consistent, every pass the car gets down the track and clicks off low 1.20's!

What cracks me up the most is every single other car is towed to the line and towed back to the pits. We drive it to and from and never have an issue. Most other racers in the class look at us like we are crazy, lol

Do the guys being towed up to the line not have a charging system?

Some don't have a charging system and other don't have a cooling system. I know a fair amount of cars have a surge tank that they fill with ice in lieu of a radiator

I just ordered/received a new center section for the car to put some more gear in it and hopefully pick up a little ET. The 3.50 gears that we had will stay as the 1/4 mile setup and we are hoping that the 3.89 will work a little better for 1/8 mile. I just got back from a vacation so I will be swapping those this week in hopes to head back to the track very shortly!
Pictures will follow this in a day or two
