Make that 2 days... I have daddy daughter time today and Wednesday, I wouldn't miss that for anything.
I wouldn't be so concerned if it wasn't a totally new combo and on a fuel that I have a very limited amount of experience with....

I'm not kidding when I say that it was actually a discussion to "finish" the car in the trailer on the way down, lol.
Best case, the car will be ready to go Thursday night with a mis matched hood. I simply don't have enough time to get the new (stock steel) hood (yes you heard that correctly) wrapped to match the car.

I must have welded for 3 straight hours last night... This car will likely be the death of me. My buddy Kris was over last night helping button up all of the last minute things on the car to get ready for this weekend at MIR. At this point I'm 4 AN fittings away from starting the car, honestly I was expecting the car to be running last week but that hasn't worked out as I hoped. We have literally re engineered the entire car in the last few weeks, I've over-nighted more parts in the last 2 weeks than I even care to think about. If anyone thinks any of this is easy, they bumped their head... I have more hours into this thing than I could even count and it still isn't ready. Sure I could be like other racers and farm out all of the work and write a check ( ok maybe not writing the check part, that ish is expensive ) but the only way to keep me racing at a some what reasonable budget is to do EVERYTHING in house. We will be spinning the rollers Thursday night and loading the car up to leave Friday at 6:00 am

I was sniped with the camera while under the hood burning some rod, yeah... I'm the fat guy lol

What did I weld all last night? 2 new puke tanks, coolant overflow tank, blow off valve, alternator bracket, fuel tank. Wait... yeah, the fuel tank If it was new aluminum I'm down to weld it, no question. Used, dirty aluminum, I can clean that up and weld it no problem. A used fuel tank with go only knows how much race gas residue in it from the last two years? Now that I'm worried about and is generally one of those things I just don't like to do . I needed a -10 return fitting welded on as the -8 was not big enough anymore. In true @madmike1157 style I just welded that dude on there. As the tank was getting hot I could smell the race gas residue and tire rubber burning off the surrounding areas of the tank. All said and done, I didn't blow up Not too bad of a result for the beyond contaminated conditions
Don't mind the mess of my workbench, tools were flying last night lol

I also welded some -16 fittings on my catch cans

By the end of the night it actually looked like something!! I am really getting pumped to hear this thing run again

That is just so freakin amazing. Even a blind guy could see that thing will be insane.

Small animals, birds and children are unsafe in front of that impeller.
