Sunday morning couldn't come soon enough! The sun was shining and it was a perfect day! When I say that the track prep was right, this track was unreal Sunday morning. Kris loaded a tune up in the car that we felt was pretty conservative and we went out to make our first hit. Keep in mind that we are pretty brand new to this whole alcohol thing and this is a brand new motor combo that we have never ran before other than a few street miles, no dyno time what so ever. Base fuel pressure for alcohol is a little different to say the least, we had 90 lbs of fuel pressure at idle and a 1:1 rise with boost (ie 30 lbs of boost is 120 lbs of fuel pressure) We were looking for a/f in the 3.5-3.6 area as well, also a whole new game for us. Funny enough, it takes the same O2 sensor.

Please note: There are no wheelie bars for this car, the classes that we run in do not allow them. This should prepare you for what happened next.

Jason Miller had the track on kill, the UPR suspension was on kill and traction wasn't exactly the issue... There is also a fair amount of rubber added to the back bumper now too

The one thing that I can say is that the oil pan savers from UPR did their job! While the exhaust was a little banged up the oil pan is perfect, the skis took a nice hit and aren't quite as shiny anymore but that is fine with me

We gave the car a quick once over and went out for another pass. The tune up looked solid and we only made a few small changes to it. I put 100lbs of ballast in the car and it was time to rock and roll. Kris had no problems putting the car back up on the brake and holding on for dear life. Come to find out, the motor is making a bit more power than we anticipated and quite a bit more boost than we thought as well. After letting go of the brake the tires whet up in a huge puff of white smoke, he pedaled and pedaled trying to get it to go down the track. This is when the entire exhaust, collector included broke off the pass side of the car and he promptly ran it over... He shut the car off and coasted from the 300' mark to a 9.80 at 87 mph. We got to looking at the data and the ramp retard had never triggered, we use this to pull timing to get the power under control on the launch. The gobs of new power and exuberant amount of timing had no hope on this pass, it was a power management fail at its best hahaha. So as we got to looking over all the data I notice the blower making some serious steam... 38.2 lbs of boost to be exact

We have our homework to do now that we have some great data! We learned a lot this weekend and it was good to see the chassis taking that power on the first hit! I will also be building a new exhaust system for the car
I should have everything back up and ready to go for testing next week before our first Ultra Street race where we will be strapping the new Billet Ysi on the car

The car took a pretty hard hit coming back down from the stratosphere, he clicked it off to make sure that everything was ok. No reason to be a hero on that pass lol. Last year we had a string of 1.20 60's and the car went very consistent 5.0@146 more than a few times in the 1/8th
