There isn't a huge demand for these blowers, mostly due to the limited market. While the impeller and Volute of the V27 are identical to the V7 Ysi-b, the similarities stop there. This particular blower uses a different case, heavy duty transmission with a different step up ratio, completely different bearing pack, different oiling system etc etc etc. These are "race" only type blowers and only fit into the NMRA Renegade or Ultra/Ultimate street rules hence the limited market. All of the bits and pieces are built to order with very small production runs, typically they would have the parts in stock to build a few if needed it just so happened that the timing of a few of these big races has them waiting on the machine shop.Why so few of those ysi's in existence? My math wisdom of the day...
So I'm in another thread recommending two 255lph fuel pumps to a guy, this got me to thinking just how does this compare to the retarded fuel pump I had to buy for this year.
Lets break this down:
1 gallon is equal to 3.785 liters
My pump flows 12.5 gallons per minutes at 100psi
Converted to liters, 47.3125 liters per minute at 100psi
47.3125 liters times 60 minutes in an hour equal 2,838.75 lph
So my stupid mechanical fuel pump moves 2,838.75 liters of fuel every hour at 100psi of pressure
Compare that to a pair of 255 lph in tank pumps, that is kind of ridiculous!
To compare that to the Weldon 2345 that we used last year (and by all means that is a big momma pump) that reigns in at 946.25 lph at 80 psi
For those that don't have a calculator handy, this pump flows 1/3 the amount of fuel as my current pump and at 20 less psi
Again, this is ridiculous!
Compare now the A1000 pump that flows 317.685 lph at 80 psi
Aeromotive stealth pump flows 340 lph at only 40 psi
All of this doesn't mean anything other than I'm bored watching it rain at work, just figured I had to rant about something?
