No crankcase evac pump, just 2 -16an vents one from each valve cover. In speaking with Mike Moran about the a pump, he assured us that there was no pump that will pull enough vacuum on this particular combo.
The fuel gets drained if the car sits for longer than a few days, it's a bit tricky to get the car to run on gas with the 500lb injectors and 90lbs of fuel pressure. The motor gets sealed at the collectors to try and keep it from corroding, It will be rebuilt in the winter regardless of what happens

This year was a learning curve for sure! Don't get me wrong, the alcohol is great for making some serious power and the car runs great on it. Everything else that I was originally not thinking about has caused me to rethink the direction we went with this. 235lb Billet Atomizers that we had last year were great and likely going back in for next season!

I am still using C16 and the 225 lb/hr fuel injectors are only @ 45-50% duty cycle. My friend switched to methanol and thought that the 225 lb/hr injectors would be big enough...wrong. Now he is trying to compensate by triggering an additional 4 -120 lb/hr injectors in the hat after the S/C at various rpm's or time. Still getting the bugs worked out. But a lot of work required to make the switch. Mechanical pump, cable drive, gilmer drive for the cable, different regulator, larger fuel lines, filters and on and on it goes. After watching what he is going through, I think I will stay with C16 for now.

That sounds like exactly the deal that I went through this winter. We were at 84% duty cycle with the 235's by the end of last season and after the Ultra rules changed it was a logical switch. After we first built the motor a few years back the 160's we originally had were static 100% lol, somehow we didn't hurt the motor back then. The alcohol consumption is now so much higher with the new combo that we've seen 70%+ with the 500's using 130lbs of fuel pressure running down the track (xb105 and 38 lbs of boost ).

Just out of curiosity, with all this talk of methanol eating aluminum, why doesn't someone make steel an fittings?

Certain sizes of AN fittings are made in steel, hose ends are harder to acquire in steel. For that matter, the fuel rails and tank are all made of aluminum as well. I suppose it could be done but sourcing all of the parts would prove to be difficult

Last week was a trying experience.......... getting everything to work as it should has proven to be tough with this particular combo..............
Anywho... turns out we were going the wrong direction with shock adjustments and were creating out own problems. With that we think we have a handle on everything else. All the electrical gremlins are fixed and we are making progress.. The last testing we do before world cup will be at Atco on Saturday. This picture was from last weekend about 300' down track. The car spun on the hit and when pedaling it it started to ride the ring gear...... Neat huh?

In other news... trying to keep up with @Boosted92LX we started construction of my new shop!
80 tons of stone spread to put in a driveway and the building is under way, footing inspection done and more to come in the next few days!

Well today went great! @TOOLOW91 came out to crew with us and was a big help in getting the car situated today. We had a great test session and ran the best we've ever done with the current setup. 1.19 60' and 5.16@137 to the 1/8th with the little YSi-b blower. Not only does this put us in the UltraStreet mix, it should put up some 7 second times 1/4 at the World Cup Finals next week.
