Seriously though, I've found that most cars the see over 165mph benefit from the stability that a wing adds. Also, cars with a very short wheel base benefit from a wing at even lower speeds. Don't forget the aerodynamic improvements that can be made as well. Years ago we installed a racecraft wing on my buddies car and it picked up 3 mph in the 1/4 after switching from the stock hatchback wing to the racecraft piece. Don't get me wrong, there are also challenges that the wing adds. Parachute placement is much more critical to avoid the wing and the air eddies that it creates. Also, depending on how the wing is built there may or may not be an adjustable wicker that can be used to increase downforce on the car at speed. It's one of those things that not only looks good but is actually serving a purpose
Better safe than sorry in my opinion. My car has been 180 in the 1/4 and it's an absolutely un-nerving feeling either way. No way do I have the balls to be in it to win it for a mile!Yeah. I knew the purpose of it, just didn't know how subtle the difference was. I've considered doing Texas mile in my car, and maybe heading out to Nevada for the silver state classic sometime and wondered if I wouldn't benefit from one. She does feel light on her feet over 150 mph.
Edit: I haven't really pushed it much past that, but don't want it to end badly if i do...

Still alive and well, working 60+hours a week and dealing with a fractured leg has tied me up recently. There has been some progress on the 2015, it should be done in the next 2 weeks!Are you still around lol
