here s few of my 88. not sure what size tire your are runing in the back but a 245-50-16 should be the widest tires used out back without major rubbing. i am running 225-50-16s all around. your tires look really wide in the rear but its hard to tell from that 1 pic. mine looks the same as the black Saleen above. can you post up more pics? heres a few of mine...

Here are two shots of my 87 Saleen. I'm running 255/40/17's on 3 piece STERNS. They still tuck inside the fender but are close. No rubbing. Forgot to add that the rims are 17x9" in the rear.

Appears Jay and George share the same painter for the center of their wheels! Looks good.

Jay, what A-arms are you running up front? Spindles? They look like they sit in a bit.

88-378.

It's real difficult to tell from the pictures off Mark's site but that rear tire looks like it really sits far off the wheel.

What is the size and make of the rear tire on your vert? There are not too many things it could be with these wheels. They are either 7's or 8's and I would be able to tell if you were not running the stock SVO rear set up.

Have Mark throw in some correct center caps while he is at it.

they are 225/50's. I'll know better onc I have them off. Maybe there is a spacer or something on them.

I just ordered the correct windshield banner from Mark. I need to get the rims to wheel wizard for some road rash fixing. Once I do that, I will sell my caps and get the correct ones.

The color does look close. I had mine powdercoated at a professional shop. It took them several different attempts before they were close enough for me to be satisfied. I'm not as good at doing the paint work like Jay and Randy can.

i am running the factory 5.0 spindles w/ the SVO brakes however, my car was originally a 4 cylinder & i am still using the 4 cyl K member & control arms which i think/pretty sure are still the same as the 5.0s.

245's up front, with 255's out back. Had to lip the fender well just a tad on both rears, but no rubbing. However, the difference between 245 and 255's is not much, so I would not go wider then a 245 unless you track alot

Jay,

You are correct about the 4 cyl and the 8 cyl k members being the same but there were a couple of changes throughout the years regarding the a-arm mounting points on the 4 cyl k members. I think you built this car from an 88? Anyway, that's the reason your front wheels sit inside the front wheel well by an inch or so. It won't change performance at all but I just thought you should know. Changing out the k member is not a big deal and you can pick one up for a 5 liter for 50 bucks.
Again, I think the car looks great after getting it back from paint. Just thought you should know.

later

Honestly, it sounds like the tire. If you can take a couple of detailed pics I can tell you if you have something else going on there besides maybe a spacer. You should be able to see a spacer without removing the wheel.

thanx for that info Marcus. i did a search last night for a few hours on K members & you are right on the money. some earlier cars had a different mounting point on the K member for the front control arms & that is the story w/ my car. i may never change the K memeber but atleast i know whats up now LOL. I'm not worried about it at all.
i also think that the rear tires maybe the issue w/ that vert. too wide?
