I was wondering what you guys with 97-93 foxbodies with artificial HID light bulbs are using for your cars. I was reading online about them and i see the number 4000k and 6000k,but i was wondering what to get. I heard that if you don't get the right bulbs you can actually fry your wire harness. So i'm asking what bulbs will be safe for my 92 coupe, also i want them to be more white looking than blue.

Whatever you do dont get the cheap ebay ones, they will fry your wires, happened to me. Now I have sylvania silver stars that work great.

well this is the thing.. the HID light bulbs are.. ok. before I got my HID kit, i had a pair of 8500K bulbs. They shined brighter, but didnt really project. They just looked blue and all. u should just save up and get a kit. I have a 12000K kit. and its awsome.

Artificial HID Bulbs? Sounds like an eBay listing to me.

XenonDepot.com is a great place for true HID kits. 4300K and 6000K kits with Phillips ballasts - the only way to go. I helped a friend install a setup in an Accord - all wiring was included, entire process took like 30 min thanks to the nice setup XD offered. XD has eBay listings too.

As far as frying the wiring - if you get a TRUE HID kit with HID bulbs, ballasts, wiring to match up with the 9004 type stock bulbs, you will not come close to frying the wiring. This is especially true of the XD kits as instead of pulling power from the factory harness, they run a fused line to the battery. The factory harness is used as a relay signal to essentially notify the HID setup when it is time to turn on and off.

Also note that unlike our stock 9004 bulbs, HID bulbs are either low or high beam. Luckily a 4300K or 6000K setup will be PLENTY of low beam power that you will never long for high beams.

I also have the Sylvania Silverstars - very pleased. A crisper, clearer and brighter white light. I was considering the HID route, but decided I will instead get some clear headlamp kit with a domed reflector on the headlight setup, use my Silverstars, and will be very pleased without spending the $300+ for a decent HID kit.

XenonDepot.com huh, I'll check it out. My headlight wiring must be on it's way out, since my headlights will only stay on for about 20mins on hibeam, then it will start to flicker. Doesn't matter is the fog lights are on or not. Might as well do it once, and do it right...

I appologize. Its not 12000K its 14000K. I ordered it from HIDWORLD.com. It was only 320 bucks. With my headlights I have now, It was money well invested.

I have Nokya 7000K bulbs in both my cars, and my brother and sister have them in their cars. I love them. Lights up the road good, and is def. blue. Looks really cool. And I got them off Ebay, and have had 0 problems. But Nokya is a good company. Good luck.

hmmmm....light bulbs heh. I just happen to be a light bulb expert. I have heard that these xenon silver stars and what not have destroyed a few wiring harnesses and such. The HID (high intensity discharge) are very nice as you will see them on mercedes/lexus/caddys and such. Its important to note the difference is a xenon or halogen is an incandescent filled with gas where as a true HID bulb burns a gas only. The really neet thing about the HID is that u can control the (k) which is the kelvin tempature which basically is metal (tungsten) heated to a certain degree. ei the hotter it gets the whiter it gets untill it turns blue then purple and so on. I personally have no use for this as i consider it more of a 'ricer thing' not bashing on anyone who has done this just my personal taste. Also its important to consider YOUR local law enforcement as some police will give you tickets for these outrages colors. Hope that helps if you have any questions feel free to pm me.
