Hi All,
Getting ready to sell my 87 GT convertible. It needs some work but the body is pretty straight and not rusty.

No motor, trans, needs a new dash wiring harness.
Seats need to be reupholstered
Top looks good
Comes with all the dash, interior parts, most of the engine components (PS pump, ac, etc)

I did post it on a local site for a couple days and got interest, but most everyone was throwing me offers that were trash. What should I ask for something like this? Should I just post it on bringatrailer?

Most offers were trash? What kind of offers were they throwing at you and what are you looking to get out of a torn apart shell?

Trying to avoid parting it out as it would take me a long time and time away from my other projects

$300-$400 sounds like they could be offering scrap prices which, in the stage of disassembly the pictures show, would be warranted. Now you need someone like me to come along who has a project car that they're working on where yours is actually in better shape. That person might pay more. But someone who casually comes across an ad for a car that's torn apart like what yours shows isn't going to bite on it for a price much more than scrap. In their eyes they're doing you a favor by getting it out of your hair. I was thinking that if you threw it out there for somewhere between $500-$1000, you might get some traffic. But in it's current state of disassembly I wouldn't count on a lot.

Bummer, it is not rusty so I thought that would be a good selling point. Most 4 cylinder rusted out foxs go for 1000-1500 around here.

No rust IS a selling point, but it is what it is for most people - and that's a shell with a LOT of work to make a running and driving car. So you're looking to sell a niche product.

If you part it out, just take it apart as they need it. Why tear it all apart and have parts laying all over? With no motor and trans, nothing should take that long to take apart.

Only downside is my neighbors will complain, I would be willing to take a lower price if I dont have to deal with it. Was just trying to get a feel if I was being outlandish.
