I'm thinking about putting in a new aluminum radiator and wondering if there is any reason I can't put in a radiator for an automatic transmission giving me the option to put in a new automatic transmission later. Thanks in advance for any answers

You can do that, yes.

You can do that. Some guys route there power steering lines through the trans cooler.

just plug the holes in the radiator for the trans lines so no dirt gets in there for now.
