88 Mclaren Questions?

Hi Folks,
Well, I don't know if there will be "88" questions, but it may be close. What are the actual differences between a Mclaren and a standard 5.0 HO GT? Suspension modifications, engine differences, etc? There don't seem to be any parts listings specific to Mclarens. We just need to understand what's what as we work to refurb our Mclaren convertible. The car appears to sit a little lower than a regular GT and has a very harsh, stiff ride, leading me to think it may have different springs than Ford originally planned. We've also been led to believe that the Mclaren convertible started life as a notch back or hatch back coupe, is this the case, as there are no rear side windows? We're new to the FOX body world and want/need to learn. Any links or articles would be helpful.
