hey guys I am building a 65 mustang "pro touring" car and i want to go with a 9" rear end. the car has a 302 making around 350hp and a built c4 transmission. so, where can i get a 9" that will fit for a decent price?

that will fit a 65? ebay or craigslist if your lucky, otherwise plan on either having a 9" from another year shortened and modified to fit. Or you can get a brand new one made.

Any particular reason for wanting a 9"? 350hp is not really that much and an 8" can handle that just fine, unless you are planning on regular dragstrip duty.

Ditto, 350 hp an automatic ? Stick with the 8" rear. Just avoid drag strip launches with sticky tires. There were only two choices for donors for 9" rears, one is the 57=59 Ford 9" and the late 70's to 1980 Granada/Monarch/Versailles 9" rear, this one came in both disc and drum brakes, but the disc rear is 1" overall in width more than your 8" rear. Don't know about the drum unit, never had the opportunity to measure one.
